What You Will Do
Healthier Generation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Evaluation Manager to lead the design and implementation of impactful evaluation and needs assessment initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a passion for program evaluation, data systems, and mission-driven work. The Evaluation Manager will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data to assess program outcomes and drive continuous improvement. With a systems-level mindset, this individual will initiate evaluation inquiries, manage stakeholder engagement, and translate findings into actionable recommendations that enhance service delivery and organizational performance. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves training and supporting staff, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and advising senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Evaluation Planning
Lead the design and execution of multiple evaluation projects with minimal supervision, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder needs.
Develop comprehensive evaluation frameworks, including:
Theories of change and logic models
Clear evaluation questions and measurable objectives
Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plans that actively engage stakeholders
Performance metrics for individual programs and broader portfolios
Tailored data collection tools such as surveys and interview guides
Strategic data collection plans to ensure timely and relevant insights
Collaborate with fundraising and program teams to integrate evaluation strategies into grant proposals and program design.
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders by:
Facilitating ongoing communication and collaboration throughout the evaluation lifecycle
Gathering input, addressing concerns, and sharing findings with program managers, funders, and other key partners
Monitoring & Evaluation
Execute M&E plans using diverse data collection methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, observations) to capture meaningful insights.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all evaluation activities.
Manage and organize data systems to support efficient analysis and reporting.
Track project activities and outputs, measuring progress toward defined goals and outcomes.
Train and support Healthier Generation staff in data collection, entry, and evaluation processes to build internal capacity.
Conduct or support data quality audits to maintain high standards of accuracy.
As needed, oversee third-party evaluators and manage contracts to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and evaluation standards.
Analysis and Reporting
Clean, organize, and manage datasets to prepare for robust analysis.
Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
Analyze quantitative data using descriptive and inferential statistics.
Analyze qualitative data using various methods, including social network mapping.
Produce timely and impactful reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) tailored to internal and external audiences.
Create compelling data visualizations and presentations that tell a clear story and drive decision-making.
Partner with stakeholders to:
Interpret findings and assess program effectiveness
Translate results into actionable recommendations
Disseminate insights to funders, staff, and partners
Lead feedback sessions to ensure understanding and application of evaluation results
Culture of Learning & Continuous Improvement
Stay current with emerging evaluation theories, methodologies, and tools, and integrate innovative practices into organizational evaluation efforts.
Champion a culture of learning by embedding evaluative thinking across teams and promoting continuous improvement.
Conduct literature reviews and background research to inform program and evaluation design.
As needed, collaborate with academic and research partners to publish findings and position Healthier Generation as a thought leader in child health and well-being.

Education and Experience Requirements
Master’s degree in public health, evaluation, epidemiology, or related field
At least 5 years of demonstrated work experience in research or evaluation including:
Designing and implementing evaluation frameworks
Designing and conducting primary data collection via a range of methods, such as surveys, interviews, and/or focus groups and securing secondary data from external databases and public sources
Conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis
Ensuring data quality
Preparing reports and presentations to summarize evaluation findings
Engaging with interest holders during the evaluation process.
Using evaluation insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement in program and evaluation practices.
Other Requirements
Evaluation & Research Skills
Proficiency in program evaluation design and implementation.
Understanding of evaluation principles, methods, and community-based participatory research.
Experience with social network mapping preferred.
Ability to conduct literature reviews and synthesize scientific literature to support programmatic efforts.

Data Analysis & Interpretation

At Healthier Generation, each position is aligned with a salary grade determined by market data. For this position, the targeted salary is $80,600.
